NORTHLAND RACQUET CLUB - JUNIOR CLASS DESCRIPTION

Red Aces (Ages 5-7) - This class uses a red ball and is on a 36’ court. The emphasis at this level is on athletic motor skills, as well as basic technical and tactical development.

Orange Hot Shots (Ages 7-10) - This class uses an orange ball and is on a 60’ court. At this level, players will continue to develop their technical and tactical skills while learning to play the game. Players will work cooperatively in different situations to challenge them. Emphasis will continue to be on serve, rally, and play. 

Green Smashers (Ages 9-12) - This class uses a green dot ball and is on a full 78’ court. This level is for juniors who have progressed through the ROG pathway and/or are ready to play in novice tournaments. Focus will continue to be on technical, tactical, and athletic movement training. 

Elite (Ages 13 and up) - This class is designed for motivated junior varsity high school, USTA NET and Open level tournament players. Emphasis is placed on tactical development and establishing a playing style. On-court conditioning will be included in this program. 

NRC Select (All ages. Participants are selected by coaching staff only. No open enrollment.) - This class focuses on stroke development with extensive live ball and point play analysis. Increased fitness and conditioning are key components. This class is designed for the serious tennis athletes who aspire to high level tournament play, and possibly college tennis. Entry into this level is strictly based upon tournament/high school results and coach evaluation. 

All classes must have a minimum of 3 students to have the class. We offer 15% off if you sign up for 3 or more classes. We will carry over classes to the next month, as long as you attend classes each month. You can also make up a class on a different day.
